About St. Philip Neri School
Mission: St. Philip Neri Catholic School is a parish faith community dedicated to fostering the Catholic faith and educating children in a loving, nurturing environment. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, students are given the opportunity to develop their individual potential and acquire the knowledge and Christian attitude necessary to become disciples of Christ. A foundation for future academic success is provided through excellence in teaching and learning, in partnership with the family and the parish and school communities.
History: On September 8, 1965, Saint Philip Neri Catholic School opened with students attending kindergarten through grade four. Each September, another grade was added to bring the school to its educational level of K – 8. Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and lay teachers staffed the school from its beginnings. In 1973, after the Sisters of Notre Dame withdrew, three Benedictine Sisters joined the faculty. In 2001, the parish erected a new parish center containing a gymnasium/cafeteria/auditorium. The lower level of the school was renovated and now provides a library, computer lab, art room, music room and extended care facility. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, St. Philip Neri Catholic School continues to flourish with thirty-six dedicated lay teachers and staff with an enrollment of approximately 500 students.
